Transfer Day Flurry?

Will there be a flurry of transfer activity on deadline day at Arsenal?

Philippe Senderos has left it late to find a new club and the rumours are that either Portsmouth or Hull City  will make a move for the Swiss international.  This is a mighty drop after playing for AC Milan and Arsenal, but with no other takers and Senderos being sixth choice after Gallas, Vermaelen, Djourou, Silvestre and Song, it is best if the Swiss stopper moves to a team that will give him regular football.

Once again Arsene could have left it late, but moves are afoot to sign the highly rated Blaise Matuidi from St. Etienne.  Arsenal are haggling over two million pounds, when you consider that the club’s turnover for one game is in excess of £3million, it makes you wonder if we will get a reality check when it comes to transfers or will we continue to live in cuckoo land?

The other player is Marouane Chamakh.  West Ham are also interested, but Chamakh has made it clear he will stay at Bordeaux until next summer and leave on a free transfer rather than join West Ham.  Arsenal, once again offered £5million for the player, whilst Les Girondins want a fee in the region of  £10million.  Arsene should make an improved offer of say £8million and secure the signing this summer.

Both of these deals will make a vast improvement to our squad.

Whether Arsene stops with these two depends on his assessment on the fitness of Nasri, Rosicky, Walcott and Arshavin.  We cannot afford to go into the next round of fixtures with only one of these players available.  Rosicky will be a player who will be in and out this season, whilst Walcott is always suffering with injuries.  Do not be surprised if Arsene adds \a third player today.

  1. Let we re-assess our squad guys, in the midfield we have cesc, rosicky, nasri, walcott, arshavin, song, denilson, diaby with backup squad who going to get their chance merida, ramsey, wilshere, and may be barazite also. In front we have persie, bendtner, eduardo, and vela. In defense we have gallas, vermaulen, djourou, and senderos. Hence in wing back we have clichy, traore, gibbs, sagna and eboue.
The question do we still need additional player? Even so we might buy one for the defensive area especially if senderos will left. But actually I don’t mind with van de vaart gets in.

  2. Well another transfer window draws to a close and another dissapointment for me
I is quite plain to see we need a quality goalkeeper and back up for Gallas and Vemalin A holding midfielder and a 25 goal a season striker 40 million in the bank and nothing spent if we fail to win anything or god forgive fall outside the top 4 Wenger and the board must go you are only as good as your last trophey

  3. We only av 2 strikers, Van & Da silva. 2 defenders, Gallas & Thomas. 2 wing back, Sagna & Clichy. Midfielders r Cesc, Arshavin, Nasri, part of Song & Denilson( dey cant link d defence wit d attack, no correct passes @ all), minus Diaby & Rosicky(injury prone). Eboue cant play 90mins, Bendtner not trustworthy i.e below xpectatn. Beloved, if we lose 2 more matches, we r off d title. Pls, tel Wenger 2 buy for us 2 av depth. if we win nothing dis season, then we loose Cesc 4 ever. Pls 4 d fans sake, let wenger buy.

  4. Here we go again, we’re a selling club, another season with nothing to show for it, well maybe the cc, i hope.

  5. We’re all set now for the carling cup. Let’s get that darn carling cup then, let’s go.
