Nasri’s Break Could Be Wilshere’s Lucky Break

The terrible news that Nasri broke his leg has once again left Arsenal fans shell shocked.  How many more injuries to key players does one club deserve?  Rosicky is returning after 18 months out injured, whilst Eduardo is once again out for two months, and last season we lost Walcott, Fabregas and Adebayor for long spells.

The loss of Nasri is a hard one to take, but this could be the opportunity that another youngster has been looking for.  The player in question is Jack Wilshere.

Jack Wilshere came to prominence towards the end of the 2007/08 season, with some reports that he might even make an appearance for the first team.  In the end young Wilshere went out to Austria and was impressive in the pre-season matches.  Wilshere got several opportunities last season and was regularly involved with the first team.

As with most youngsters he was unable to sustain his form and towards the end of the season he drifted back to playing for the reserves and was a key member of the all conquering FA Youth Cup winning team.

Once again Arsene has taken Wilshere with the first team and injuries to Eduardo and Nasri, the opportunity is there for Wilshere to show everyone what a great talent he is.  What you always get with youth is that they play with no inhibitions and Wilshere is no different.  He is confident in his own ability and will not be overawed in having to play in the Premier League.

Given the opportunity we will all realise what a great talent Wilshere is and just as an injury to Clichy gave Gibbs the opportunity to show Arsenal fans that we have an able deputy to our number one left-back, Wilshere will show us that we a  player who is ready for first team football lat such a young age.

  1. Judging by the game yesterday I think Ramsey can take Nasri’s spot while he’s injured. Wilshere will be benched. You should probably also considered Traore. He’s fast as lightning and very underrated. Don’t forget about Vela too,, he can play as a left winger as well.

Btw last season we also missed Gallas, Clichy, Toure, Diaby, and Almunia.

  2. wat about rosicky ?@

  3. Personally I think we could always run and gun. Start Walcott/Arshavin in the front and Van Persie on the wing. Imagine the through balls Cesc could play with that kind of speed up top. Plus I feel like Van Persie needs more space to use that magical left foot of his, he always seems to get overpowered in the box and doesn’t get enough time to have a proper strike on the ball.

  4. 2 sasons ago Diaby was first choice..he got injured. last season he was also first choice and as usual he got injured. this time he has taken the initiative and removed the competition. just hope he does the same to rooney, lampard and torres

  5. Personally I’d consider this more to be the chance of Vela than anyone else.
Also Nasri isn’t competion for Diaby. They rarely play in the same position.

  6. i think we all arsenal fan should pretty please trust the coaches judgments and argue less about this stuff of first choice or second choice lets just hope and pray he judges right

  7. walcott is not good enough to start for us, hes best off the bench. Vela is still untested and when he has played in the league he has not been that outstanding. Rosicky seems the obvious choice if he can capture the form he once had.

  8. sensible gunner

I think the simplest option is get rid of dead weight and get some decent players in considerin we have around 30 mil maybe more to spend….and stop worrying about wingers and attacking options since we have a good number of them..our defense lets us down….get brede hangeland and lorik cana!

  9. almunia
    sagna toure gallas clichy

    walcott fab diaby rosicky

    rvp/edu arshavin
    eduardo is not injured
