Arsenal Champions League Draw

Today’s Champions League draw saw Arsenal pitted against Villarreal in the quarterfinal. Villarreal feature former Arsenal legend Robert Pires. The first leg will be played away. Arsenal beat Villarreal at the semi-final stage in 2006 when we reached the Champions League final. The first leg will take place on either 7th  April, whilst the return leg will be the following week, on 15th April, three days before the semi-final clash with Chelsea.

If we overcome Villareal, we will face either Manchester United or Porto.

By the time, we meet Villarreal we should everyone back, our squad is strong enough to beat the Spanish outfit. Arsenal will go into the away game with a positive attitude and will look to win away or get a score draw.  It will be nice to welcome back one of heroes at the Emirates, Robert Pires.

The probability is that we will then face Manchester United. The first leg will be played at Old Trafford. We have not bee overrun by United at Old Trafford in recent years, so I expect us to play a tight game. We have a great record at The Emirates against Manchester United.  I expect Arsenal to win home leg, the question is can we get a good result at Old Trafford.

Our path for European glory has been set for us, now we need to follow the path and return to Rome in May.
