Young Guns Live on Setanta

Arsenal’s impressive youth team visit White Hart Lane in what promises to be a closely contested FA Youth Cup quarter final.

Arsenal have beaten Aston Villa, Wolves and Sunderland in earlier rounds and in all honesty did not need to come out of 2nd gear.

Tonight’s encounter will prove to be a tougher test.  Spurs are top of their Academy Youth section and will include former Crystal Palace trainee Bostock in their team. Arsenal will need to be at their best to overcome our near rivals.  Arsenal will be without Henri Lansbury who is on loan with Scunthorpe, but wonderkid Jack Wilshere will be available.

Arsenal will be looking to progress through to the final, some thing we have not done since 2001 when we won our second FA Youth Cup in a row beating Blackburn Rovers in the final, having beaten Coventry City the year before.  Considering what a promising crop of  youngsters we have had over the years, or at least we have been led to believe, eight years is a long time to wait for another FA Youth Cup success.

Let’s hope the boys do us proud tonight and beat Spurs at the Lane in waht will be a hostile atmosphere.

The game will be shown live on SETANTA SPORTS.
