Van Persie and Walcott Could Leave

Arsenal enter the new with a new Chief Executive, and just as well. The board never replaced Dein as we all know and we have been left with a mess if laughable proportions.

Last season we lost Flamini because we told him at the beginning of the season a new contract will be given to him once he has proven what he can do.

This season we have van Persie and Walcott entering the last 18 months of their contract with no discussions having taken place with either player. Do we expect them to sign whatever we put in front of them? We cannot take players for granted especially if we are not winning any trophies.

Furthermore, Eboue, love him or hate him, has entered the final six months of his contract. What is ridiculous is that we have allowed this to happen. With the love the fans have for him, he will not sign a new contract and we will lose yet another player on a free transfer to add to Flamini, Kanu, Campbell, Pires, Wiltord, and Edu who were all allowed to run down their contracts.

Ivan Gazidis has a big job ahead, as well as trying to bring in Arsene’s transfer targets over the next four weeks, he will have to sit down and sort out the contracts of Walcott and van Persie and any other player who is entering the final 18 months of their contract. Somebody at the club has taken their eye off the ball and left us with this mess, but what can we expect if our board comprises of old Etonians and a tax exile. We are the laughing stock of the Premier League, there is no professionalism at board level, and Wenger is expected to manage the team, scout players, conclude transfers, and negotiate player contracts.
