Champions League – Afterthought
it is amazing that we go to Kiev, a place where we have had nightmare results in the past, come away with a point and the press make out as if its a disaster.
Russia and Ukraine are not easy places to visit especially for the first game in the Champions League group stages. Every team knows that if you lose the first game, you are playing catch-up. If we can pick up three away draws, that will do me. We are in a tough draw, no game is going to be easy, every point will be a hard fought affair.
Great enjoyment from the press in focusing on Gallas, claiming that his goal made amends for a poor defensive display, well they might not have been watching the same game as everyone else, because Gallas had a good game, and rescued us in the end.
We had chances to score and win the game, but we didn’t, at least we gained a point and must now look at winning the next game.
