Hoyte to Sign for Middlesbrough

Middlesbrough have announced that they have agreed a fee with Arsenal for Justin Hoyte, believed to be £3M.

Hoyte spent the 2005-06 season in the north east with Sunderland, he had a good season the following season, but failed to make an impact last season.  With the arrival of Bacary Sagna, Hoyte became third choice right back at the club.  Hoyte was badly exposed in two games last season against Tottenham in the Carling Cup and Manchester United in the FA Cup. These two performances probably decided Justin’s future at Arsenal.

The Hoyte will be a straight a replacement for Luke Young and will gain much needed and deserved first team football.

Keith Lamb, the Middlesbrough chief executive, said: “We have agreed a fee with Arsenal and we have now been given permission to speak to Justin, which we will be doing in the next 24-48 hours.”

Middlesbrough hope to have Hoyte available for their game against Tottenham on Saturday.

Let’s all wish Justin a successful career at Middlesbrough, he was a true gooner having bee on Arsenal’s books since the age of 11.

Other trasnfernews today will see Fran Merida go back to Real Sociedad for a season long loan spell.  Hopefully the young Spaniard has a good season in Spain and returns to becoem a regular at the Emirates.  Also wanted by Real Sociedad is the Dutch forward Nacer Barazite.  Barazite did not travel with to Austria, though he is of outstanding talent, players like Wilshere, Randall and Gibbs appeard to have leapfrogged ahead of him in the eyes of Wenger.
