Djourou Extends Stay At Arsenal

Johan Djourou became the latest player to quietly extend his stay at Arsenal, following on from Clichy, Sagna and Adebayor.  Djourou, people forget is young and in most clubs would not have got anywhere near a first team place.  He has three experienced players in front of him from whom he can learn a lot and then slowly develop into a rock of a defender.

Djourou needs to learn not to panic, a trait that has dogged him so far.  He has pace to cope with most strikers and he needs to use his body weight to ensure he is not “bullied”.  Wenger has faith in him, the new contract and the departure of Senderos are evidence of this.
